Victoria was born on November 21, 1840 in London, England, and was the first child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. She became engaged to Prince Frederick, who would eventually rule as Frederick III, the German Emperor, King of Prussia. The pair married in 1858; Victoria had eight children. She died August 5, 1901 at Schloss Friedrichshof in Krobnerg, Germany....

Queen Victoria was the only child of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. She was born on May 24, 1819 at Kensington Palace in London and she became heir to the throne when her father died. In 1837, she became Queen at the age of 18. During the early part of her reign, she was influenced by two men: her first Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne, and then her husband, Prince Albert, whom she married in 1840.
